Package discounts

Another type of discount offered in Sellvio is the package discounts.

These discounts serve two purposes:

1. Encourage Upselling: Bundle discounts allow customers to purchase a specific product at a discounted price if they include a required bundle of products in their cart.
2. Ease of Purchase: Bundle discounts also appear on the "Offers" page, where the entire bundle can be added to the cart with a single click.

We will take a closer look at how bundle discounts work from the customer's perspective. But first, let's explore how store owners create and manage these discounts.

The Package discounts administration interface can be accessed from the administrative sidebar under Webshop → Package discounts.

1. Name - The name of the bundle discount. This name will also be visible to customers in the webshop.
2. Discounted product - The product that can be purchased at a discounted price when the required products are added to the cart.
3. Products required for the discount - The products that must be added to the cart initially for the customer to be eligible for the discounted product.
4. Active - Indicates whether the discount is active.
5. To search for a bundle discount, simply enter its name in the search bar and click the magnifying glass icon.
6. By clicking the Edit button, store owners can modify existing bundle discounts.
7. Unnecessary bundle discounts can be deleted by clicking the red trash can icon.
8. New bundle discounts can be added by clicking the Add New button at the top of the page.

Adding and editing bundle discounts

Bundle discounts can be easily added and edited using the intuitive interface provided in the administration panel.

• Name - The name of the bundle discount. This name will also be visible to customers in the webshop.
• Valid from - The date from which the bundle discount automatically becomes valid. However, it must also be manually activated to apply to products when the date is reached.
• Valid to - The date on which the bundle discount automatically becomes invalid, regardless of whether it was activated.
• Active - Determines whether the bundle discount is active.

The remainder of the Package discountst form is divided into two sections: Required Products for the Discount and Discounted Product.

Required products for the discount - section

In this section, administrators can specify the products and their quantities that must be added to the cart before the customer becomes eligible for the discounted product.

The Package discounts must include at least one "required product."

• Clicking the "Add" button allows new products to be added to the list of required products.
• The list of required products cannot contain an unlimited number of items.
• Products can be removed from the required products list at any time using the red "trash can" button at the end of the product entry.

Discounted product - section

In this section, administrators can select the product that the user will be eligible for and set its discounted price.

Configuring the discounted product is straightforward: select an existing product, specify the quantity, and set the new prices for each pricing tier used in the webshop.

How do package discounts appear to customers in the webshop?

When a customer’s cart content qualifies them for the discounted product, the system displays a modal window where the customer can decide whether to accept the offer.

The difference between package discounts and cross-sell offers is that customers can add multiple discounted products to their cart if their cart contents meet the required conditions multiple times.

Bundle offers appear as a group in the cart and checkout, where only the quantity of the discounted product can be increased. Increasing the quantity of the discounted product automatically increases the quantity of all required products in the bundle.

Removing the discounted product from the cart automatically removes the entire bundle, including the discounted product and all required products.

As previously mentioned, bundles also appear on the "On sale" page. Customers can add the entire bundle to their cart with a single click, including the discounted product and all required products.
