Pages and Their Editing

Let’s examine in detail the significance of the pages and how they are managed.

Similar to static content categories, Sellvio also includes a variety of pre-configured special pages. These pages have unique functionalities and cannot be removed:

  • Contact - The "Contact" page is procedurally generated as part of the contact form and is automatically added to the header navigation as the last menu item.
  • About Us - This page cannot be removed, as it is recommended for every website to include an "About Us" page for reasons related to credibility, SEO, and legal compliance.
  • News - The "News" page is a static listing page that displays articles from the "News" article category (column).
  • Payment Methods, FAQ, Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, Point Collection - These pages are interconnected throughout the system and are mandatory in most countries for legal compliance.
  • Satisfaction Survey - The content of the Satisfaction Survey static page is used in the automatic satisfaction survey email sent by the system after an order has been successfully completed.
  • Personal Data Management - The content of this static page appears on the built-in Personal Data Management page.

Sellvio store owners have the ability to modify the content of the above-listed pages and also enjoy the flexibility to expand their website beyond the provided static pages. There are no limits to the number of pages that can be added to the store, and they can be assigned to any menu item.

The Static Content Categories administration page can be accessed via the admin sidebar under Static Content → Pages.

The pages are language-dependent, meaning that separate pages can be created for each language supported by the store.

To view the list of pages for a specific language, you must select the desired language from the Languages menu in the left sidebar. The selected language will also apply when creating a new page.

The page list can be further filtered by selecting a specific category from the Columns menu in the left sidebar.

Pages and Their Editing

1. Languages – Specifies the language in which the pages are listed. The selected language will also be used when creating a new page.
2. Categories – The category under which the pages are listed.
3. Title – The title of the page.
4. Active – Indicates whether the page is visible to the store's customers. Inactive pages are not visible to customers or in any added navigation menus.
5. Administrators can manually arrange the order of pages within a category by clicking on and dragging the "arrows" icon at the end of a page entry. This allows the horizontal or vertical position of the page's navigation element to be set if the page is part of a menu category.
6. By clicking the "Preview" button, administrators can view a preview of the page in a new tab to see how it will appear to customers before activation.
7. The "Edit" button allows store owners to modify existing pages.
8. If a page is no longer needed, store owners can delete it by clicking the "Trash" button.
9. To search for a page by title, simply enter its name in the search bar and click the "Magnifying Glass" icon.
10. By clicking the "Add New" button, administrators can create a new page for the selected language.

Adding or Editing Pages

Creating new pages in Sellvio is no more challenging than creating any other type of content discussed so far. Now, let’s explore the features and settings offered by the pages.

General Page

Pages and Their Editing

  • Category – The menus (static content categories) to which the page is assigned. Administrators can assign a page to as many menus as needed.
  • Language – Pages can be created for every language active in the web store. The language will automatically be set to the one selected on the listing page before clicking the "Add New" button.
  • Active – Determines whether the page is visible to the store’s customers. Inactive pages will not appear to customers, and their navigation links will be hidden in the menus to which they belong.
  • Title – The title of the page.
  • Tags – Pages are one of the content types to which tags can be added. Tags previously added on the Settings → Tags administration screen can be assigned to the page, but store owners also have the option to create new tags. Any new tags added to a page will also appear on the Tags administration screen.
  • Listing Page – By selecting an article category (column), a general static page can be transformed into an article listing page.
  • Short Description – A brief, introductory text providing a concise overview of the page. This text appears below individual page entries when they are listed on a static content category page.
  • Description – The main content of the page. This field allows administrators to create and edit content with a visual appearance similar to the final output. It enables users to format text, insert images, and design the main description of the page in a way that reflects how it will appear to store customers.

General Static Pages vs. Listing Pages

General Static Pages: If no article category is selected in the page settings, the page appears as a general static page. This means that all the information displayed on the page originates from its settings.

Listing Page: If an article category is selected for the page, the system ignores the introductory text of the page and uses the introductory text of the associated articles as the main content of the page. Additionally, when the page is generated, the featured image of the article is displayed at the top of the page instead of the images directly assigned to the page.

SEO Page

Sellvio provides settings for in-depth SEO optimization of each content type and category. A comprehensive explanation of the various SEO settings and their usage can be found [here].

Translations Tab

Although pages are created individually for each language, administrators can link pages together on the Translations tab and specify which page is the translation of another.

This ensures that when customers are on a page and change the store’s language, instead of being redirected to the homepage, they are taken to the linked page in the newly selected language.

Pages and Their Editing

To assign a translation to the edited page, click on one of the automatically filled language fields and start typing. Once the results appear, click on the page you wish to assign.

To unassign pages from each other (remove a translation for a language), simply click the small "X" button at the end of the autocomplete field.

In all cases, do not forget to click the Save or Save & Stay button after making changes in the category.

Sharing Tab

Under the dedicated sharing tab, store owners can configure Open Graph (OG) settings for the page in the selected language.

  • OG Title – The title of the page that appears when the page is shared. It helps control how the page’s title appears on social platforms, making it more user-friendly and appealing to an online audience.
  • OG Description – The description of the category that appears when the page is shared.
  • OG Image – The image displayed alongside the OG title and OG description when the content is shared on social media.

Files Tab

In the "General Settings" section, we detailed that static pages belonging to the "System Messages" static category can be assigned by the store owner to order statuses.

If an order receives a status associated with a static page, the system will automatically send the page's content to the customer in the form of an email.

If there are documents attached to the static page on the "Files" tab, the system will also automatically attach these to the email.

This feature is particularly useful for attaching official documents, such as a Withdrawal Form or similar, to an order confirmation email.
