Banners (Ad positions) on the homepage

Sellvio also provides the option to display targeted banners (ad positions) on the homepage, helping store owners promote their products, advertise discounts, and boost sales.

Banners (Ad positions) on the homepage

Every Sellvio theme includes four banner (ad position) zones. While the vertical placement of these zones may vary depending on the theme, as shown in the screenshot above, they all function in the same way.

Here’s an overview of the different banners (ad positions) offered by Sellvio:

  • Zone 1 – The first banner zone displays two or three smaller ads in a row, depending on the selected theme. If more than two or three ads are added to this zone, the additional banners will automatically create new rows. There is no specific limit to the number of banners that can be added to this zone.
  • Zones 2 and 3 – The second and third banner zones are designed to display two ads at a time. If more than two ads are added to these zones, additional banners will not appear in multiple rows. Instead, Sellvio will randomly display two ads from the zone with each page load.
  • Zone 4 – The fourth banner zone displays a full-width ad. If more than one ad is added to this zone, additional banners will not be arranged in multiple rows. Instead, Sellvio will rotate the banners, randomly displaying different ads assigned to this zone with each page load.

Adding and editing banners (Ad positions)

Banners (Ad positions) on the homepage

  • Name – The name of the banner (ad position). Administrators will be able to identify ads by their name on the ad list page, as previously demonstrated.
  • Language – Banner (ad position) advertisements can be added for each active language in the webshop:
    • If a language is selected from the list before clicking the "Add New" button, the selected language will be pre-selected in the dropdown menu.
    • If no language is selected from the list before clicking the "Add New" button, the dropdown menu will display "All", meaning the ad will be available in all languages.
    • The dropdown value can be set to "All" at any time, making the ad accessible in all languages.
  • URL – No ad is complete without a specific web address for customers to visit when clicking on it. In this field, administrators can enter the URL where the banner (ad position) will direct customers. This could be a blog post, a specific product category, or any URL the store owners wish to promote.
  • Position – Using the position dropdown menu, store owners can specify in which of the four banner (ad position) zones they want the ad to appear. Selecting a banner zone also changes the size requirements for the two image upload fields: Image (Desktop) and Image (Mobile).
  • Image (Desktop) and Image (Mobile) – Each banner must have separate images for desktop and mobile devices. Both image fields allow administrators to customize ads using Sellvio’s integrated image cropping feature. Find out more about cropping uploaded images.
  • Active – This option toggles the banner (ad position) on or off. Disabled banners will not appear in the ad zone they are assigned to.

The system allows for the scheduling and customization of the display of sliders, banners, and information bars. Users can define the start and end times for specific advertisements to be active on the website. This feature provides flexible campaign and promotion management through automated scheduling, enabling precise timing for content display. The scheduling options are available on the administrative list page, making it easier for webshop owners to utilize these tools.
